Now That’s a Heart Stopping Climb!

I love to climb. I haven’t done it in many, many years and miss the afternoons spent at Vertical Relief in Flagstaff figuring out how to climb with my trusted climbing partner encouraging me to “keep going”. When I came across these images I knew I needed to post them; they’re stunning. The design, the height, and the twistiness is very, very cool.

Some information on wall:
This was built by Klimcentrum Bjoeks (climbing gym) in Groningen, Netherlands (the Dutch are very smart). It is made of steel and wood and is a heart pounding 121 feet tall and has a 36 foot overhang (I think that is the highest I have ever climbed on a vertical wall). If you are interested in the construction, check out this gallery.

Some more Pictures:

I would love to get back into climbing so….
When I get a chance, I am going to check out the Slidell Rocks or maybe spend some time at the Tallahassee Rock Gym.
