Today is one of those glorious (and far too few) days between winter and summer. The sun was out and the breeze was refreshing. My love and I started our day with a bike ride to morning coffee with Ana. She hooked us up with Harolds. An amazing plant store on St. Claude. This place ROCKS! We were on the hunt for the lovely Japanese Magnolia (Tulip Plant). We left with Azaleas, Basil and most important Sweet Olive. The Sweet Olive is a special gift to my sweetheart. This is her favorite plant and I have wanted to give it to her for sooo very long. It never has olives so the name is a mystery. It does have the most fabulous smell when it is in bloom. We ended our day with home rolled sushi. It has been years and I was a bit rusty but they turned out good. I am excited to do it again. Here are some picture that capture the loveliness.

Here are the Azaleas we planted.

This is a close-up of the magic!

This is the Sweet Olive that will go in the front of the house.

Treasures we found while planting today.

Your plants look wonderful and colorful with your home. You may have inherited your Grandpa’s green thumb. Of course only if you used that smelly fertilizer from horses and cows to fertilize, which is the best according to Howard!
I have never heard of a Sweet Olive, but I like the way it looks. Is it going into the ground where it is sitting? Looks like a good place to me. Good choice.
Everything in New Orleans is so colorful!! Trixie even looks colorful with her collar in her photo.
In Phoenix we were very chilly today. The desert is in full bloom and beautiful, but you wouldn’t know it was spring in the desert form the cold air and wind today! I plan to take a trip to the desert just to sit and enjoy the view this week. It brings back so many memories of horseback rides, camping trips, trips to Tonto Basin and just day trips with you and E. Great memories to enjoy right now!!
Love you always!
