Two days in Jackson, MS
While in Jackson I was on the hunt for both free wifi and good vegan options. I rolled in around 9:30 last night but decided last minute to skip the coffee shop and go straight to the hotel.
Today I committed to eating a descent meal before heading home. The weather forecast is bad and I don’t want to be hungry on top of nervous. I found a vegan cafe that was located at a local food coop. Driving into their parking lot, I also spied the coffee shop I was thinking about hitting last night. The vegan food was a bit disappointing as the cafe was closed. I bought a fakin’ bakin’ burrito from the deli case and it was pretty good but on the salty side.
Next door to the grocery was a computercoop touting itself “he world’s first computer cooperative” in existence since 1998. I wonder… The people seemed nice. There were three free computers that were accessible until 7PM. This will change as they reported a few thefts and will now close when the coop closes at 6PM. They said most of their business was tied to computer sales. Membership provides a discount on equipment and software.
After the computercoop I head over to the coffee shop for some yummy coffee for the road. The place is called Cups. The soy latte was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice and slightly funky.
With cup in hand I head out on the road for a three hour drive in the rain. I like the rain…..
